Code of Conduct
At Holy City Swing, we desire to help everyone come dance swing without worry of being harassed or judged, no matter the skill level or your personal appearance. To that end, we have established some rules for our attendees to abide by to maintain a welcoming environment for all. If you choose to break our rules, we will be very happy to escort you from our events.
Rule 1:
Keep your opinions to yourself. No one wants to hear your unsolicited opinion on how they would be a better dancer or how they might improve. Our events are also not your personal playground to spread your politics. When in doubt, just don't spread your opinions.
Rule 2:
Keep your hands to yourself. Dancing is an activity that requires people to be closer and touch more than usual, which leads people to think a lot of physical contact without consent is always okay. Dancing still requires consent, and it's not okay to touch people without it, even in the context of dancing.
Rule 3:
Don't treat our dance events like your personal pick up playground. Our dancers are coming to our events to swing dance, not to find a hookup buddy. Go to the bars for that.
Rule 4:
Don't trash our venues. Treat the dance floors like they were your own home. Pick up your trash, and leave the dance floor as nice as it was when you arrived.
